Privacy Policy

PresidentialElections.info is run by WeldonPC. This page says what the site, and the ad on it, collect when you use them, and why. No reader data is sold.

Reading the site

  • You do not need an account to read anything on this site, and reading it sets no cookies.
  • The site’s fonts, styles and scripts come from presidentialelections.info itself. The only outside service its pages load is the AdEngine ad described under Advertising. (An older browser that cannot draw emoji may also fetch emoji images from WordPress.org.)
  • WordPress keeps a small note in your browser’s session storage saying which emoji your browser can draw. It holds nothing about you and is cleared when you close the tab.
  • The site uses no analytics service. The ad tag counts one page view per page, kept only as a daily total (see Advertising).
  • Like every website, the server that hosts this site keeps an access log of each request: your IP address, the time, the address requested, the page you came from and your browser type. WeldonPC uses it to keep the site working and secure.

Advertising

Most pages on this site show one banner ad, below the page content, from AdEngine (adengine.us), the small ad network run by WeldonPC, the company behind this site. For now the ads are for WeldonPC’s own services. The contact page, the Record Pass page and this page show no ad.

To show an ad, your browser loads a script from adengine.us, asks it for one banner, loads the banner image, and reports once that the page was viewed and once that the banner was shown. Like any website, adengine.us receives your IP address, your browser type and the address of this site with those requests.

  • No cookies, no profile. AdEngine sets no cookies, gives you no ID and does not track you from site to site.
  • How your IP address is used. adengine.us looks up the approximate city for your IP address in a location database kept on its own server (nothing is sent to anyone else), so that ads meant for one area are shown only there. It also uses the address to count each ad view or click only once and to leave out robots and WeldonPC’s own office traffic. The address is not stored with the counts; the temporary entries made from it expire within six hours and are cleared from the server within two days.
  • What is kept. Daily totals only: page views for this site, and views and clicks for each ad. The adengine.us web server also keeps a standard access log (IP address, time, address requested, referring site, browser) for security; it is deleted on a rolling schedule.
  • Clicking an ad passes through adengine.us, which counts the click, and then opens the advertiser’s site, which has its own privacy policy.
  • Nothing about you is sold or shared.

The contact form

The contact form asks for your name, your email address, a subject and your message. They are sent by email to WeldonPC with the address of the page, the date and time and your IP address, so that WeldonPC can reply to you and can spot abuse. The website itself keeps no copy of the messages it sends.

To stop spam without any outside service, the site checks each message on its own server. It works from a scrambled code made from your IP address, not the address itself: it counts messages per code for up to a day and logs the result of each check. For a message it blocks, the log also keeps the first 200 characters of what was typed (name, email address, subject and message). The log is kept outside the website, for WeldonPC only.

Record Pass accounts

The Record Pass is in preview and cannot be bought yet. When checkout opens, buying it needs an account on this site:

  • The site keeps your email address, your password (stored scrambled by WordPress, so it cannot be read back) and your PayPal subscription number and status.
  • You pay at PayPal, which has its own privacy policy. This site never sees your card or your PayPal login.
  • Signing in sets WordPress’s sign-in cookies. They last up to 14 days, or until you sign out.
  • To stop password guessing, the site counts failed sign-ins and password-reset requests from each IP address for a limited time (up to a day) and keeps a log of failed sign-ins with the IP address and the account name tried.
  • To close your account, use the contact form.

The AI that writes the briefs

The AI model that writes the weekly summaries (see About) is sent only the text of the official documents, never anything about readers.
